Director, Institute of Architecture and Urban Space, Tongji University (since 2000). Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (since 2001). Honorary Fellow, the American Institute of Architects (since 2002). Membere de l'Académie d'Architecture of France (since 1998). Director, The Committee of Urban Space and Environment, Shanghai Urban Planning Commission (1998-2007). Director, the Committee of the Preservation of Historical Areas and Heritage Architecture, Shanghai Urban Planning Commission (since 2007). Chief Curator for the Theme Deduction of EXPO 2010, Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination (since 2005). Consultant for the Theme Deduction of EXPO 2010 (since 2006). President, The Architectural Society of Shanghai (1996-2005). Honorary President, The Architectural Society of Shanghai (since 2005). Vice President, the Architectural Society of China (1996-2005).
